Homemade lasagna for the win — layered with beef, Italian sausage, ricotta, and plenty of cheese. Comfort food that feeds the family and tastes even better the next day.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 6 Italian sausages
- Marinara (Rao’s for this recipe) — about 40 oz total
- Lasagna noodles
Seasoning
- SPG (Kinder’s)
- Italian seasoning
- Onion powder
Cheese filling
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese (shredded and grated / “shaky”)
- Italian seasoning
- 1 egg
Directions
- Cook the beef and sausages until done.
- Bake the sausages at 400°F in the oven for 18 minutes.
- Cook the beef in a pan on the stove.
- Add the seasonings (SPG, Italian seasoning, onion powder).
- Add 20 oz of marinara to the meat.
- Boil the lasagna noodles according to the package directions.
Ricotta filling
- Add 15 oz ricotta cheese, mozzarella, shredded Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and an egg. Mix together.
Layer the lasagna
- Layer noodles, meat filling & sausage, and ricotta filling. Add mozzarella cheese twice as you layer.
- For the top layer, add the remaining 20 oz of marinara sauce, then shredded Parmesan and grated (“shaky”) Parmesan.
- Cover and bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.
- Remove the foil and cook for 10–15 minutes more.
- Serve with salad or your favorite bread and enjoy!
