Ingredients
- 2–3 lbs boneless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 cup salsa or taco sauce
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or chili powder, cumin, garlic, paprika)
- Juice of 1 lime (optional)
- Tortillas or taco shells
- Toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, avocado, hot sauce
Steps
- Place chicken in slow cooker; cover with salsa and seasoning.
- Cook on low 6–7 hours or high 3–4 hours until shreddable.
- Shred in the pot, stir, and keep on warm.
- Warm tortillas and set out toppings for a DIY taco bar.
- Refrigerate leftovers for bowls, quesadillas, or lunch-box tacos tomorrow.
